Join in the Cycling Scotland Challenge

Get active and WIN PRIZES doing the Workplace Cycle Challenge in January and February!

Cycling Scotland have partnered with the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives to create a Cycle Challenge aimed at workplaces country wide.

The challenge allows you to compete with colleagues or with other workplaces to see who can cycle the most miles each month, with lots of PRIZES to be won! Regular cycling can help you lose weight, reduce stress and improve your fitness, so why not REGISTER HERE to take part in a Workplace Cycle Challenge now!

You could try cycling 30 miles over the next month as part of your daily commute to meet those health focused New Year Resolutions. How about organising group led rides to train for Freshnlo Pedal for Scotland 2015 Corporate Challenge? Or as a staff team, would you like to have a go at cycling the equivalent of Land’s end to John O’Groats? Muster some friendly competition between colleagues and start your challenge today!

Not only will there be health benefits from cycling, those who cycle the most miles throughout January and February will receive PRIZES! Up for grabs are; bikes, picnic hampers, cycling accessories, Decathlon vouchers and much more!

All miles cycled will be recorded via the free app or entered manually on the website. Templates, posters and other useful tools will be available to help you coordinate and promote your Workplace Cycle Challenge, giving you more time to focus on winning!

A leadership board will show your progress on the PleaseCycle website where all individual and workplace cycle data will be stored. Each employee can also set individual goals and challenges and will gain rewards and Prizes.


The Cycling Scotland Workplace Cycle Challenge is designed to make it easy and rewarding for employees at organisations throughout Scotland to try cycling at their workplace in the company of an experienced cycle ride leader. The challenge is open to all and participants have the chance to win some great prizes.

Through the use of the Cycling Scotland PleaseCycle Hub you can log journeys, earn rewards and compete for prizes (prizes available for journeys made in January and February only!). There is something for everyone as we would like to encourage as many people as possible to give cycling a go.

The prizes that will be up for grabs include:

- 3 x Dawes Discovery Sport 1 2014 Hybrid bikes – To qualify for prize record 25 or more journeys throughout January/February

- 23 x DRAPER 4 Person Picnic Set – To qualify for prize record at least 15 journeys

- 3 x £100 Decathlon Vouchers – To qualify for prize record at least 10 journeys

- 20 x £20 Decathlon Vouchers – To qualify for prize record at least 10 journeys

- 10 x Mac-in-a-sac Cycling Jackets – to qualify for prize record at least five journeys

- 10 x Santini 365 Roubaix Gloves – to qualify for prize record at least one journey

- 30 x Smart Lux Bike light sets – to qualify for prize record at least one journey

On top of the individual prizes, there will also be prizes awarded to the top three workplaces using the Cycling Scotland PleaseCycle Hub. The three workplaces that have the highest average number of journeys per active participant throughout the challenge period will be in with a chance of winning a cycle maintenance prize package worth £200.

FREE Cycle Training

Cycling Scotland are offering FREE Cycle Ride Leader training to employees at Cycle Friendly Employer Awarded sites across Scotland. This would allow you to set up regular, short and fun lunch time led rides which you could incorporate into your Workplace Cycle Challenge. This is a full day of training whereby participants will learn how to safely and confidently plan and lead gentle group bike rides.
