Pathhead Street Design Update

Pathhead Street Design
The final design proposals, drawn from work with residents and pupils at nearby Pathhead Primary School, were recently distributed to all households in the neighbourhood.

The designs were previously shown to the public at drop in session on the 5th of December 2013 and were positively received.

The proposals are a practical and creative response to what many local people view as the Pathhead Street Designbarriers to walking and cycling in the area. The proposals also build on many local people’s views, both young and old, of how the neighbourhood could become a more colourful, sociable and safer place to spend time on or travel through.

Street Design is delivered as part of the Make your Move Kirkcaldy initiative and helps local people work together to make their streets better for walking and cycling on, socialising and play by creating new design ideas. Previous Street Design projects in Kirkcaldy have led to the re-design of streets and neighbourhoods following long term engagement with residents and pupils at nearby schools.

Construction is scheduled to take place between the 10th of March and 20th of April 2014.
