Maintenance Tips: 2. How to perform a quick and efficient bike safety check

Local bike mechanic and MYMK’s Dr Bike, Dave Seaman from Dave’s Bike Shed in Aberdour, has given us a few tips on how to check your bike is safe and ready to ride after a winter in the shed.

It doesn't take long to check your bike is safe to ride. "The most effective way to check your bike over is an 'M check'. It's called an 'M check' because of the way you look at the frame and the components of the bike." An 'M check' is a great thing to do every time you jump on a bike. Use the step by step video below as a guide to performing your own 'M check'.
