Cycle trainer assistant course

7 August 2013 - 9:00am to 5:30pm

Dunnikier House Hotel

We are offering project volunteers the opportunity to undertake a free, nationally-accredited training course.

Bikeability Levels 1 and 2 (the training we offer to the public through Make your move Kirkcaldy) gives people the skills to cycle on the road everywhere but multi-lane roundabouts. This Cycle Trainer Assistant course will give volunteers the skills to help deliver this training.

The Cycle Trainer Assistant course will cover planning, preparing and delivering training sessions for Bikeability Levels 1 (basic cycling skills) and 2 (on-road manoeuvres). This is a nationally accredited course that will help you to develop your cycling and your teaching skills. You do not need to be a high-level cyclist to attend this course, but you do need basic cycling skills and the confidence to cycle on the road.

Places are limited, so you need to register in advance.

This course is only open to registered volunteers with Make your move Kirkcaldy, and we ask that everyone taking part in the course commits to helping to deliver two Bikeability training courses over the next year. (These courses are usually delivered as six sessions of 1hr 15m.) If you are not currently a volunteer with us, you will need to submit a volunteer registration form before registering for the course (available on request).

To register for this course, or for more information, please contact Susan Jeynes at susan.jeynes@sustrans.org.uk or on 07920 865013.
