Bike Week 2013
Make your move Kirkcaldy and CycleStart are hosting a lead bike ride at Beveridge Park on June 22nd as part of Bike Week 2013.
The free, hour-long ride is is designed to help people build up experience, fitness and confidence on their bikes and will be led by Fife Council's CycleStart team.
The ride will start at 10am and a specialised Dr Bike team will be on-site from 9.30am to perform safety checks on people's bikes.
CycleStart Ride Leaders will also be on hand to help people with basic riding skills, particularly with safety in riding within a group, and awareness of other road/track users.
If you don't have a bike but you would still like to join in, then contact the Make your move Kirkcaldy team and we will be able to organise a loan bike for you to use for the day.
The event is open to everyone aged 10 upwards (10-17 year-olds need to be accompanied by an adult) and will be at a relaxed pace designed to suit beginners, allowing you to enjoy the company as you cycle along some of the best cycle routes in Scotland.
Bike Week is an annual event which promotes cycling.
The week aims to encourage people to try out cycling weather it be for fun, as a means of getting around to the local shops, school, the library or just to visit friends.
As the biggest nationwide cycling event in the UK, Bike Week encourages more than half a million people to join in events, rethink their everyday journeys and switch to cycling as the most convenient way to get around.
